Dr. Mizutani grew up in Tokyo, Japan and moved to the US during her high school years. She obtained a BS in Biology from Swarthmore College. After working as a research assistant at the Cleveland Clinic, she moved to California where she earned a PhD in developmental biology from Stanford University School of Medicine. During her graduate school career, she re-discovered her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian. Dr. Mizutani earned her DVM from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She is particularly interested in ophthalmology and internal medicine.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, baking, hiking, and gardening. She shares her home with a mystery-spaniel-mix dog named Woobie whom she adopted as a foster failure during her veterinary school and a cat named Tenten.
